SOOPS we have made and what we have coming up soon…

In completely random order (why?  see the FAQ page) we are cooking a classic soup from one country per week.  As we began the adventure, the boys were 8 and 10 and in 3rd and 5th grades.  By the time we make it through all 208 currently recognized countries (plus one political statement), they will be 12 and 14 and should be able to cook each week on their own (you are welcome future spouses of my boys!)

Without further ado, here are the countries we have cooked so far:

5. 10/05/14 COMOROS:  Sweet Pea Soup & Le Me Tsolola: Green Banana, Fish and Goat Stew
6. 10/12/14 HUNGARY: Pörkölt and Nokedli: Pork Stew with Fresh Noodles
7. 10/16/14 SWEDEN:  Ärtsoppa: Yellow Split Pea Soup
8.  10/26/14 SOMALIA:  Shurbad: Goat + Oat Stew
9. 11/2/14 REPUBLIC OF CONGO: Muamba Nsusu and Fufu (Chicken +  Peanut soup + Yams)
10. 11/9/14 SOLOMON ISLANDS: Curried Coconut and Lime Gourd Soup
11. 11/16/14 JAPAN: Toshikoshi – Soba Noodle Soup 年越しそば
12. 11/23/14 BULGARIA: Supa Topcheta (Bulgarian meatball soup) Супа топчета
13. 11/30/14 TANZANIA: Curried Banana + Fish Soup (Ndizi na Samaki)
14. 12/07/14 PERU: Sopa Minuta
